Am I eligible for Medicare Supplement Plans A, C, or D?

Who is this for?

If you're wondering if you can enroll in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Medicare Supplement Plans A, C, or D, this will tell you if can apply.

If you are currently enrolled in Plans A, C, or D, you can stay with your plan as long as you pay your premium.

Plan A

You're automatically eligible for Plan A if you're 65 or older.  If you're under 65, you're eligible for Plan A if:

  • You'll no longer be insured because you've become eligible for Medicare, or
  • You've lost coverage under a group policy after becoming eligible for Medicare

Plan C

If you were eligible for Medicare prior to January 1, 2020, you're eligible for Plan C if:

  • You'll no longer be insured because you've become eligible for Medicare, or
  • You've lost coverage under a group policy after becoming eligible for Medicare

Plan D

You're eligible for Plan D if:

  • You'll no longer be insured because you've become eligible for Medicare, or
  • You've lost coverage under a group policy after becoming eligible for Medicare

You can also enroll if you had Plan A, Plan C, or Plan D, then enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan and now would like to return to Plans A, C, or D.

Plans F, HD-F, G, HD-G and N are not available for those under 65 years of age and who are eligible for Medicare due to disability.

The Medicare deductibles, coinsurance and copays listed are based on the 2023 numbers approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. You can go to any hospital, doctor or other health care provider in the U.S. or its territories that accepts medicare. You don't have to use our network. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan administers Blue Cross medicare Supplement plans. Where you live, your age, gender and whether you use nicotine products (including e-cigarettes, vaping, and nicotine patches or gum) may affect what you pay for your plan.
